As most of you probably saw this week had a lot of things happening, more rumblings of conference movement (TCU to Big 12). There was something else that happened in Piscataway, NJ where the Rutgers Scarlet Knights had a blackout game against Pittsburgh. Usually, most of you around this time of year are getting pumped up for Rutgers basketball, but this year is different. This is R YEAR!!! Rutgers won it's second Big East game of the season against Pittsburgh behind 1st time starter and former stud QB prospect Gary Nova. This game was not only a 34-10 blowout, but a huge win to increase Rutgers chances of having a shot at their first ever Big East championship. Although the offense could've done a lot better, it was defense who helped win this game. Rutgers had 4 interceptions, 2 from Logan Ryan(Big East D-POW) one of which was returned for a TD. Even though Gary Nova only had a little over 170 yards passing he looked pretty well for his first ever start in college. The running game played pretty poor only racking up about 90 yards between 4 different running backs, but on the bright side superstar recruit Savon Huggins aberaged a little more than 4 YPC and had another rushing TD. San San Te also helped the team by hitting a 50 yard field goal to get Rutgers on the board in the first quarter. Even though this was a great game. One of the main things in this game was the uniforms. I know a couple of old-timers and guys who like tradition are going to hate this, but the black uniforms Rutgers wore were probably some of the best uniforms ever worn at RU and most of the Big East. If you don't believe me click the link and read what fans and ever reporters thought of them. P.S.- RU will have even better looking uniforms this upcoming week pending approval.....
